Course Overview

Create and design any 3D form you can imagine, and unencumber your creativity. Polysculpting is the strategic workflow for creating 3D models by using a hybrid of polygonal modeling and digital sculpting. Learn the foundations of creating characters, vehicles, weapons, armor, sets and environments by starting with the alpha mesh and developing it into spectacular 3D sculpts used in today’s hottest games, films, TV and advertising. In this course, you will learn to develop your model form a basic polygonal mesh to a detailed multimillion polygon digital sculpture, and understand the techniques and workflow for trouble free progression of your model through all the stages of development. We will explore modeling methods ranging from basic edge or box modeling to advanced techniques like kit bashing, and modeling with Zspheres and Dynamesh.

This course requires basic knowledge of a 3D modeling application such as Maya, 3ds Max, Modo etc. It also requires a basic knowledge of a digital sculpting application such as ZBrush.

This workshop is non-software specific - the techniques taught are applicable to all of the relevant software.

" At the start of this course I could not even model a hand... I could only do hard surface stuff. In just these 8 weeks I have learned more about modeling and topology than I have in my whole career as a modeler. I was never taught, in depth, the correct way to form topology, but I feel like I can really add this skill to my portfolio and be confident in any modeling endeavor. Once again, thank you so much for the great course and knowledge, I look forward to utilizing it in my professional career.” Andrew Schreiber, student, March 2013
