Philip's meticulously detailed digital and traditional oil paintings are purely based on the fantastic. He has illustrated over 30 children's books, created concept art, paintings, and 3D content for numerous CD Rom and console games, and published multiple digital art tutorial books.

Currently employed by Electronic Arts as Concept Art Director, Philip Straub has been working as in illustrator/concept artist in the entertainment industry for over 10 years at the same time as merging his art into many other markets. Philip is currently represented by 3 galleries in United States and has a business licensing designs for fabrics, wallpapers and home decor products. He also has a hand in product development working on anything from children's puzzles to greeting cards.

Philip is renowned for his 2D & 3D depictions of surreal and fantastic (supposedly) imaginary environments. Philip's work takes the viewer into other worlds that captivate and fascinate.

Philip has been a featured artist in numerous publications including; The Society of Illustrators NY and Los Angeles Annuals, Spectrum Fantasy Annuals, Expose' digital fine art book, and on dozens of digital art websites and forums.

Some of Philip's clients include: Scholastic, John Wiley and Sons, Fantasy Magazine, Universal Studios, Cendant, Fisher Price, Mattel, Utne Reader, RJ Reynolds, Bonner and Co, Big Tuna Trading and Mercer Mayer, McGraw-Hill, Simon and Schuster, Harper Collins, TSR, Random House, Draft Worldwide, Golden Books, Harper Festival, Electronic Arts, and Nickelodeon.

Philip was also one of four acclaimed artists who contributed to the d'artiste Digital Painting Master Class publication.

Environment Concept Design II

World-renowned concept art director, illustrator and designer Philip Straub, is repeating his fantastic 8-week course, Environment Concept Design, focusing on the fundamentals required to create world class environment concept art.

In this workshop, Philip will share some of his vast experience in digital illustration technique and concept design and tutor students on composition, perspective, lighting, and color theory using Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter (students may use traditional media or employ 3D for initial block layout).
